Delete your account & data

Last updated: 27 September 2026 · OurPath, a product of Our Path Digital Ltd

This page explains how to delete your OurPath account and the data associated with it. You can do it yourself inside the app, or by emailing us — both are described below.

Option 1 — delete it in the app (fastest)

  1. Open the OurPath app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account (at the bottom of Settings).
  4. Read what happens, then type DELETE to confirm. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple will ask you to confirm too.
  5. You’re signed out and your account is locked straight away. We email you the date it will be permanently deleted — 30 days later.

Changed your mind? You have 30 days

Sign in to OurPath any time before the deletion date. You’ll see “Scheduled for deletion” with a Cancel deletion button — tap it and everything is exactly as you left it. After the date, deletion is permanent and we email you to confirm it’s done.

Why 30 days? Separations are hard, and phones are sometimes shared or taken. The window means one tap by someone else can’t wipe your journal and notes for good.

Option 2 — ask us by email

Email hello@ourpath.app from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll verify it’s you and complete the deletion. We aim to action requests within 30 days.

Delete some of your data — without closing your account

You don’t have to close your account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete individual items you’ve added — children and their Info Bank entries, notes, journal entries, documents, events and saved locations — by opening the item and choosing delete.

If you’d like us to delete a broader set of your data while keeping your account open, email hello@ourpath.app with the subject “Delete some of my data” and tell us what to remove. We’ll verify it’s you and action it within 30 days.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Deleting your account deletes your account and personal information. OurPath is a shared record between two parents, so records you created together can’t be taken out of your co-parent’s account when you leave.

Data What happens after 30 days
Your sign-in (email, Apple or Google login, two-factor) Deleted. The account can’t be signed in to again.
Your profile — name, phone, backup email, address, photo Deleted.
Your personal journal, journal share links and private notes Deleted.
Shared records — messages with your co-parent, the shared calendar, costs, the parenting plan and its history Kept in your co-parent’s account so their record stays complete (it may be needed in family proceedings). Your name is replaced with “Former co-parent”.
Billing / transaction records Kept only where the law requires (e.g. tax and accounting), for the period required, then deleted. We never store card details — our payment provider holds them.

Subscriptions

If you pay by card, your subscription is set to stop at the end of the current period (no refund), and switched back on if you cancel the deletion. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it in your store settings — deleting your OurPath account doesn’t stop store billing.
