OurFamilyWizard alternatives in the UK
OurFamilyWizard is the most established co-parenting app in the UK, and it charges each parent separately — roughly £216 a year for a household. The main UK alternatives are OurPath, The Coparent App, Graham and TalkingParents. This page compares them honestly, including the cases where OurFamilyWizard is still the right answer.

Where OurFamilyWizard is genuinely the better choice #
We'd rather tell you this than have you find out.
If a court has already named it. OurFamilyWizard has been referenced in family proceedings for two decades. If an order, a solicitor or a Cafcass officer has specified it, use it. Switching to prove a point is not a good use of anyone's time.
If you need in-app calling with recorded transcripts. They have it. We deliberately don't — we think call recording escalates more than it resolves — but if you need it, that's a real gap on our side.
If your solicitor already uses it daily. Familiarity is worth something when someone is reading your records at speed.
Where it falls down for UK families #
The per-parent pricing is the real problem. It isn't just the cost — it's that the more reluctant parent has to be persuaded to pay for a tool they didn't choose. That's where adoption dies, and a co-parenting app only one parent uses isn't a co-parenting app.
The UK site is a localisation, not a UK product. OurFamilyWizard's .co.uk site runs the same content as its US, Irish and Spanish sites with British spelling and pound signs. There are no pages on child arrangements orders, Cafcass, Section 7 reports, MIAMs, the Child Maintenance Service, the Family Mediation Voucher Scheme or UK school term dates. Their practitioner material doesn't use the words "solicitor" or "Cafcass". It's a good American product with a British coat of paint.
Nothing connects to how UK arrangements actually work. No local-authority term dates. No awareness that overnight counts drive CMS shared-care bands. No concept of a MIAM, a consent order, or what happens at the end of mediation.
The other UK options #
The Coparent App — UK-registered, around £9/month covering both parents, professional partner plans for mediators, solicitors, McKenzie Friends, contact centres and DV services. Genuinely our closest competitor and a credible choice. Cheaper than us. Less depth on the mediation and UK-procedure side, and no parenting-plan engine driving the calendar.
Graham — works through WhatsApp and SMS rather than an app, which suits parents who won't install anything new. £119 for a solo plan or £179 for the couple plan, so the couple plan costs more than we do for the same two parents. Court records are a £14.99 add-on rather than included. Not built court-first.
TalkingParents — long-established, strong documentation, and entirely American. No UK entity, no UK content, US legal framing throughout. It works, but nothing in it is shaped for England and Wales. More on TalkingParents in the UK →
AppClose — ended its free tier in January 2026, which is why you may be reading this. There is no credible free-forever option left in this category, and we'd be sceptical of any new one.
What we'd say for OurPath #
Three things, and they're specific:
One subscription covers both of you, at £129.99 against OurFamilyWizard's roughly £216 per household. The reluctant parent doesn't have to pay to participate.
The parenting plan runs the app. Your plan isn't a stored document — it configures your calendar, your holiday rules and your cost splits. Your mediator can set it up with both of you in the room at the end of a session. Nobody else does this.
It's actually built for England and Wales. Local-authority school term dates. Costs framed around what CMS doesn't cover. A dispute button that routes back to mediation rather than toward a C100. Data held in the UK.
And the honest caveat: we're new. OurFamilyWizard has twenty years of court familiarity and we have months. If that matters more to you than the rest of it, that's a reasonable conclusion.
Questions #
Can I move my records from OurFamilyWizard to OurPath? You can export from OurFamilyWizard and store the PDFs in OurPath's document store. Your history stays readable. It won't become verifiable OurPath records — nobody can retrospectively certify data they didn't create, and be wary of any app claiming otherwise.
Does my co-parent have to agree to switch? For the shared features, yes — this only works with both of you. That's true of every app in this category, including the one you're on.
What if we're mid-proceedings? Ask your solicitor before switching anything. Changing record systems in the middle of a case is rarely worth the disruption.
