Verify an OurPath record

Check whether an OurPath export is genuine, and whether the copy in front of you has been altered. No account, no sign-up, no charge.

This is the strong check. It confirms the exact file you hold is the one we issued — if a single character anywhere in it has been altered, it will fail.

The file is not uploaded. Your browser works out its fingerprint on your own machine, and only that fingerprint is sent to us. The document never leaves your computer.

What a result means

File verified. The fingerprint of the file you hold matches the one we recorded when we issued it. Nothing in the document has been changed — not a date, not a word, not a penny.

Details verified (printout only). We issued a document with that reference and seal on the date shown. This establishes the document is ours. It does not establish that the copy you are reading is unaltered, because the seal is printed on the page and travels with any copy, edited or not. Ask for the original PDF if that matters.

Not verified. Either the details were mistyped, or the document does not match anything we issued. Check for transcription errors first — the seal is long and one wrong character will fail. If you checked by file and it failed but the printed details verify, the file has been modified since we issued it. Treat it with caution and email hello@ourpath.app.

What this page does not tell you

It tells you a document is genuine. It does not tell you whether what's written in it is true, whether it's complete for your purposes, or what weight a court should give it. Those are questions for the people reading it.

We also don't say OurPath records are "court-admissible". Admissibility in England and Wales is a matter for the court, case by case. What verification establishes is narrower and more useful: this document came from us, and nobody has changed it since.

For solicitors, mediators and Cafcass officers

You don't need an OurPath account and you don't need to contact us. Everything you need is printed on the document itself. Verification takes under a minute, and the page logs nothing about you.
