Verify an OurPath record

Paste the document reference and the seal printed on an OurPath export, and this page will tell you whether the document is authentic and unchanged since it was generated. No account, no sign-up, no charge.

What a result means

Verified. The reference exists, the seal matches, and the record chain was intact when the document was produced. The contents are exactly what OurPath generated on the date shown.

Not verified. Either the details were mistyped, or the document does not match anything we issued. Check for transcription errors first — the seal is long and one wrong character will fail. If it still doesn't verify, treat the document with caution.

What this page does not tell you

It tells you a document is genuine. It does not tell you whether what's written in it is true, whether it's complete for your purposes, or what weight a court should give it. Those are questions for the people reading it.

We also don't say OurPath records are "court-admissible". Admissibility in England and Wales is a matter for the court, case by case. What verification establishes is narrower and more useful: this document came from us, and nobody has changed it since.

For solicitors, mediators and Cafcass officers

You don't need an OurPath account and you don't need to contact us. Everything you need is printed on the document itself. Verification takes under a minute, and the page logs nothing about you.
