Records neither of you can rewrite

OurPath records are append-only and tamper-evident. Messages, cost decisions, swap responses and plan acceptances are written once and cannot be edited or deleted by either parent — or by us. Any date range can be exported as a sealed PDF that anyone can verify without an account.

How it works, briefly #

Every record carries a timestamp from our servers, not from a phone. Each new record is cryptographically hashed together with the one before it, forming a chain. Change any entry and every hash after it stops matching.

Our database physically revokes update and delete permissions from the app. There is no "admin override" — we designed ourselves out of it on purpose, because a record we could change on request isn't a record.

The export #

One tap produces a PDF of a message thread, a cost history, or a calendar record over any date range you choose. The chain is verified at the moment it's generated, and the document carries a SHA-256 seal.

A solicitor who has never heard of us can take that seal to ourpath.app/verify, paste it in, and confirm in under a minute that the document is authentic and unaltered. No login, no account, no charge.

Export is free. Always. On every plan. #

If your subscription lapses, you keep the ability to export everything. We will not hold your children's records hostage to a renewal. That should be table stakes in this category; it isn't.

What we won't claim #

We won't tell you these records are "court-admissible", and be careful of any app that does. What a court in England and Wales accepts is a matter for the judge, on the facts of your case. What we can tell you is that the records are complete, neutral, timestamped by us rather than by either of you, and independently verifiable — and that this is what a solicitor or mediator asks for when they're trying to work out what actually happened.

And a word about why #

Most of this never goes near a court. The value of a neutral record isn't winning — it's that when both parents can see the same undisputed history, there's dramatically less to dispute. Records that reduce arguments are the product. Records as ammunition are a failure mode, and we've tried hard to design against it.
